Synopsys' Virtualizer™ Development Kits (VDKs) help automotive designers address their software development challenges. VDKs are software development kits containing virtual prototypes of automotive specific microcontroller units (MCUs) and system-on-chips (SoCs), as well as debugging and analysis tools and sample software. This enables engineers to start software development, integration, and test activities 12-18 months before the hardware design is available. 

Virtualizer Development Kits (VDKs) can be used in conjunction with Simulink®, enabling cosimulation of Simulink models with Virtualizer Development Kits. Use Simulink Coder™ to code and integrate Simulink models within the model of the Vitualizer Development Kits. This integration enables developers to simulate complete systems including the physical plant, the target hardware, and the embedded software. The integration of Simulink with Synopsys VDKs enables the use of virtual rapid prototyping, virtual embedded software testing, and virtual hardware-in-the-loop development environments.
