Description

g.NEEDaccess is a server service that facilitates simple and platform independent data acquisition from (multiple) devices over a network, and in doing so, eases the workload of the user to a large extent. It allows users to acquire data easily from g.tec devices without having to take care of the low-level concepts of data acquisition. The server handles acquisition and preprocessing of data so that the user receives data that is ready to analyze.

The reference implementation of the server’s network API provides a wide range of functions that ease data acquisition and also support device-specific operations. The Client API provides a high-level C and .NET library for facile integration into projects, which handle communication with the server using the network API underneath.

g.NEEDaccess – MATLAB API is a MATLAB toolbox that connects to lower level g.tec device drivers to let users read biosignal data like EEG, ECoG, EMG, EOG, and ECG within the MATLAB environment. The MATLAB environment allows
users to easily set up their own signal acquisition and analysis by utilizing all available toolboxes from MATLAB (like Statistics and Machine Learning Toolbox™, Deep Learning Toolbox™, and Signal Processing Toolbox™). The API for MATLAB contains commands that give full access to the amplifier. There are commands for reading the data, setting the bandpass and notch filters, changing the sampling frequency of the amplifier, defining bipolar derivations, and calibrating the system. One of the key advantages of the API for MATLAB is that it is fully integrated into MATLAB. Users can start data acquisition within minutes and build applications easily and quickly on top of it.
